Fundada em 1962 pelo falecido criador Yves Saint Laurent e seu companheiro Pierre Bergé, relata-se que a mudança de nome da marca faz parte da estratégia de renovação de Slimane para a fashion house, após o anúncio em março de que ele iria substituir Stefano Pilati.

Entretanto, para alívio de todos, o logo YSL, um dos maiores símbolos do luxo, irá permanecer. Ufa.
